E’ disponibile per il download VMware vSphere 5.0 che supporta VM (virtual machine) 4 volte più potenti della versione precedente, fino a 1 TB di memoria memory e 32 virtual CPUs e un nuovo file system VMFS-5.

VMware vSphere 5 introduce anche 3 nuove caratteristiche chiave: Auto-Deploy, Profile-Driven Storage e Storage DRS.
